DAY OF ACTION TODAY!!
Jan 20, 2020 —
Hi Super supporters!
Today is the day!! I am SO excited for todays action and to see everyones pictures! Yesterday I announced the day of action and that I needed your help. Lots of people have been contacting me about joining in, which is fantastic and above you can see a collage of some of those getting involved, including model Arizona Muse and Green MP Caroline Lucas!
Todays action is to post a picture on social media of yourself holding a sign with a message on it! This will help to raise awareness and show decision makers we want them to bring about change!
Here is all the information you need to get involved:
1) Get some paper or recycled cardboard and a thick pen.
2) Write one of these examples on your paper/cardboard:
- I/we want manufacturers to ditch period plastic!
- I don’t want plastic in my period products!
- We don’t want plastic in our period products
- I/we say no to period plastic!
- Manufacturers need to break the plastic cycle, period!
3) Take a picture of yourself holding the sign.
4) Post your picture on social media today along with the example:
‘I’m taking action today because period plastic is unnecessary and needs to be stopped at source by manufacturers. It’s time for change to happen! www.change.org/plasticfreeperiods #EndPeriodPlastic’
If you make your own please make sure to include the campaign link and hashtag #EndPeriodPlastic, so I can see and share!
If you’re at school or work today, why not get your class mates and work colleagues involved and take pictures in your morning or lunch break! This will start important conversations and raise awareness in your school or workplace amongst peers.
Today is going to be fantastic and I can’t wait to see everyones posts and the signs they’ve made, people all over the globe are taking action together!
Thank you so much to everyone for doing signs, pictures and for all your support! Let’s get posting!
