We need a skatepark in Frenchs Forest, Having a skatepark in a local area will prevent vandalism and will promote active and healthy people from all ages who skateboard, bike ride and roller blade / skate. We also are not allowed out of our local area during lockdown. Many things about COVID make it hard for kids and even adults to have a break and have fun.

Most people with local skateparks that are very close to their homes use almost all of their spare time having fun and staying active. The vert ramp at the aquatic centre is great but it is very specific to certain types of skaters who have the ability to use it, it is especially hard for beginners. 

During COVID skating has kept me and other members of the community entertained and happy. Frenchs Forest is filled with hills making it harder and more dangerous to skate around. I’ve encouraged several friends to try out skating, some of them have really enjoyed it but there are very limited places to skate which are safe and easy to access. 

Skateparks are helping with mental health and well-being, especially during lockdown. They are for all ages and can be used by more people unlike other facilities. Lastly they are low maintenance.
