2,977 lives were lost on September 11th 2001. Now while we have patriot day I think that a step further can be taken to make the holiday closer to something such as memorial day where schools are shut down and business are closed to give people a proper day to grieve and pay respects to those who have passed.This was a terrible act of terrioism that deserves to be not celebrated but acknoledged and given a proper day of rememberence. This will allow familes to grieve and give all those who have passed a day of representation. The reason this matters to me is that not only have so many lost a loved one on this tragic day but it still affects them because maybe they have a family member who was badly injured and now they have to take care of them or they need to raise their child on their own. It is so important to give the loved ones of those who have been lost a day to properly grieve.
