With regard to the incident happened on Sri Lankan High Commission in London, with the request of Terrorist supportive UK MPs Foreign Ministry of Sri Lankan Government has suspended the duty of Brigadier Priyanka Fernando for a gesture made in-front of the Sri Lankan High Commission in London to LTTE Terrorist group supporters.

Summary of LTTE and what they have done to the world

LTTE, Liberation of Tamil Tiger Elam, was the deadliest terrorist organization in the world at the time who killed massive amount of Civilians, world reputed public leaders, including Rajv Gandhi and Laxman Kadirgamar, attacking and injuring Army Commander Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksha, damaging a large number of public properties including the Central Bank and the CMB Bandaranayake International Airport in country. 

India was the very first to ban LTTE as a terrorist organization with the assassination of Gajiv Gandhi in 1992, Then United States banned LTTE since the 8th of October 1997 and named as Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) in 2nd of November 2001. United Kingdom has designated the LTTE as a proscribed terrorist group since 2000. The European Union has banned LTTE since 2006 and Canada banned LTTE since 2006. Altogether 32 countries have banned LTTE and declared it as a terrorist organization by making crimes against humanity.

Incident in a summary

 On last 4th February 2018, Sri Lanka celebrated the 70th Independence day after getting freedom from the British. High Commission of Sri Lanka in London also had a ceremony for the 70th Independence day in Sri Lanka. By the time when the ceremony taking place, there were a group of LTTE terrorist organization supporters protesting against the Independence Day ceremony in London by Sri Lankan High Commission; stating that their leader is "Prabakaran" and their nation is Tamil Elam. A terrorist leader who made the Sri Lanka suffer for 30 years.

Brigadier Priyanka Fernando and several officials came out and watched the incident for a while. Afterward LTTE Terrorist Supportive two MPs made a written request to foreign secretary of England to expel Brigadier Priyanka Fernando by withdrawing his diplomatic papers and claiming that the protesters were civilians, but not a group a of terrorist supporters for a gesture that Brigadier Priyanka Fernando made to the LTTE Supporters.

Even before the UK asks SL to request a suspend Brigadier Priyanka Fernando from duty or to give him a warning, Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Sri Lankan Government suspended Brigadier Priyanka Fernando from his duty with immediate effect on yesterday 6th of February 2018. 

We believe suspending Brigadier Priyanka Fernando from his position is not right and he his duty should be restored back immediately without entertaining terrorist supporters.
