The Doug Ford government has been engaging in actions that raise serious concerns about transparency and accountability. As a concerned citizen, I've observed that public funds, which should be dedicated to serving the people of Ontario, are instead being diverted into the pockets of the government's chosen business partners. It's an alarming pattern that seems to prioritize private interests over public welfare.

Ontario is currently facing significant challenges in healthcare and mental health care, areas that desperately need financial support. Our province's hospitals are overcrowded, and mental health services are insufficient to meet the growing demand. At the same time, we are confronted with an ever-increasing homeless population, a problem that requires immediate attention and intervention.

Moreover, our basic infrastructure, such as road maintenance, is suffering. The roads are riddled with potholes that endanger drivers and pedestrians alike, yet the provincial funds that could address these issues are being misallocated.

Freedom of information is a fundamental right that ensures government accountability to its citizens. It's crucial for the people of Ontario to have access to information about how our government is using public funds, especially when there are concerns of misuse and favoritism.

I urge the government to maintain and strengthen the Freedom of Information Act, ensuring complete transparency around governmental decisions, especially those regarding financial allocations. This will allow Ontarians to hold their elected officials accountable and ensure that public resources are used for the intended purposes of improving our communities.
