Every person in Alberta has only so much time in the day to make a difference. It infuriates me that we're spending time on debating whether we need a new license plate design when there are so many more pressing issues right at our doorstep. Doesn't it make more sense to channel that energy into getting our teachers back in classrooms with fair contracts? Or pouring resources into fixing our healthcare system, which desperately needs attention?

Our current license plate might seem like a small thing, but this is about priorities. It's frustrating to think about changing a piece of metal when Alberta faces challenges that affect people's lives profoundly every day. We have to ask ourselves what's more important right now—and it's not a different license plate design.

The current design, with its recognizable and cherished elements, serves its purpose fully. It's a practical design that carries both our heritage and identity as Albertans. It reminds us of what truly matters—our sense of community and history.

I urge the policymakers of Alberta to put a halt to this change and instead focus on issues that truly deserve our attention and resources. Let's not miss the forest for the trees.
