The intersection of Canning Hwy and Norma Rd in Alfred Cove is very unsafe, particularly during peak hours. The half-way zone, between Eastbound and Westbound traffic, is too narrow, and when there are two vehicles in the same zone, they block each other's vision.

As a local community member, I hear many complaints about this intersection. The City of Melville and many of the locals would like to see traffic lights here, to control traffic flow. Main Roads prefers to put a median strip in, to stop certain traffic movement (rather than manage existing demands). The local commercial traffic (trucks, vans...) will be forced to use backstreets to link up to Canning Hwy. 

The easiest, common sense, solution, is to put traffic lights in, to allow existing use in a safe manner.
