LSU Upper Administration: Take Action Regarding Students' Campus Safety Concerns

LSU Upper Administration: Take Action Regarding Students' Campus Safety Concerns
The Issue
Dear President William F. Tate, Chief Bart Thompson, LSUPD, Office of Civil Rights and Title IX, Director Bryan Andries, LSU Facility Services Office,
As LSU students and affiliates, we are tired of the LSU administration bargaining with us over solutions to us feeling unsafe and neglected, pushing us to the side, or ignoring us altogether.
We request for President Tate to release not only a response but a plan to address students' concerns with safety on campus, starting with our statement on campus safety. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and we encourage students and LSU affiliates to share their specific concerns with us through the comment feature on this petition or to reach out to us at lsufeminists@gmail.com.
To quote LSU’s mission statement: “As the Flagship institution of the state, the vision of Louisiana State University is to be a leading research-extensive university, challenging undergraduate and graduate students to achieve the highest levels of intellectual and personal development.” How are we supposed to achieve the highest levels of intellectual and personal development if we are constantly concerned for our safety and battling with a university that has consistently discredited our concerns, neglected us, and failed us? We deserve to attain a quality education and to feel safe and supported while achieving that goal.
