New Jersey is known for its high cost of living, with taxes being a significant contributor. The state has one of the highest property tax rates in the U.S., averaging 2.47% compared to a national average of 1.07% (Tax Foundation). This financial burden is causing undue stress on families, particularly those already facing financial difficulties.

In addition to property taxes, New Jersey residents also face high income tax rates - up to 10.75% for top earners (NJ Division of Taxation). While this progressive tax structure aims at wealth redistribution, it inadvertently puts pressure on middle-class families who are trying hard to make ends meet.

By lowering these tax rates, we can provide much-needed relief for struggling families and create a more equitable economic environment within our state. We urge our elected officials and policy makers in NJ to consider this plea from their constituents seriously.
