We are a group of hardworking individuals, putting in long hours and often working overtime. Yet, we find that our efforts are not justly rewarded. The more we work, the more taxes we pay. This is particularly disheartening when you consider that low-income earners like us bear a disproportionately large tax burden.

According to data from the Congressional Budget Office, the bottom fifth of earners pay almost 20% of their income in taxes. This is an undue financial strain on those who can least afford it.

We believe in a fair and equitable tax system where everyone pays their fair share but no one is unduly burdened. We propose reducing taxes for low-income earners to alleviate this financial stress and promote economic equality.

The current tax system discourages hard work by penalizing overtime with increased taxation rates. By reducing these rates for low-income earners, we can encourage productivity while ensuring workers retain more of their hard-earned money.

This issue affects all of us personally as it impacts our ability to provide for ourselves and our families. It's time we band together to make this change happen.
