Lower Rental Prices, Equal Opportunities for All

Lower Rental Prices, Equal Opportunities for All
The Issue
I know myself I am deeply effected by the Rocketing unrealistic rental prices here in Cornwall. Many of us can’t afford to purchase our own homes, and we rely on renting out homes. Like so many properties in Cornwall that are being brought and used as second holiday homes or summer holiday rentals, which have made it extremely difficult for a very long time for actual residents to live and work in the place they were born in, now we are being told my estate agents that if you don’t have a annual income over 30 k you can’t rent a property . This is also due to the insurance companies taking their slice of the cake too.
what is at stake? We are already there, Cornwall has a worrying housing crisis, even emergency accommodation is at its minimal. A new legislation and rules need to be put in place so local hard working people and families that rely on universal Credit and Housing Benefits too ups, are given the same chance to rent a home without being discriminated at because we don’t earn one 30 k a year or we have to be over 55 years of age to qualify
as a hard working song parent on universal credit, tout government needs to wake up and realise how bad the housing crisis is here in Cornwall and through out the United Kingdom
