We are asking you to sign this petition in support of the Pediatric Day Health Care Program in Louisiana.  If the Louisiana State Legislature fails to find additional revenues during the current special session to support this program, more than 600 medically fragile children will be without the services currently provided by the program.  

The Pediatric Day Health Care Program was created in response to a lack of access to care for medically fragile population in Louisiana.  It is an alternative to Private Duty In-Home Nursing and provides skilled nursing care along with developmental and medical based therapies in a child friendly environment.  These special children thrive in this social setting while receiving cost effective care. 

The Pediatric Day Health Care facilities also function as emergency care shelters for special needs children and their families during hurricanes and other state or national emergencies.
