Convert this term's grading policy to an optional pass/fail system.

The Issue

With the spread of COVID-19, schools have been forced to deliver courses online. We believe that this change requires other changes as well, one being the optional conversion to a pass/fail grading policy. In reality, many students are struggling to keep up with this change, and they should not be penalized for it. With the adoption of an optional pass/fail grading system, many students can continue to pursue their educational goals without the fear of failure or a hit to their GPA. An optional pass/fail policy can keep the integrity of coursework and achievements while helping the students who need it most. It will not affect students who don't need this change,  and they can keep the grading policies for them as is if they choose. Education should cater to the individual, not the masses. Keep students the priority, don't penalize them in a time of crisis. Make the decision that will be looked on as a great help to many people in need, not the one that will cause the failures of students across the state.
