Stopping Minnesota Turtle Racing

Stopping Minnesota Turtle Racing
The Issue
Many people know of the event of turtle racing that takes place in Minnesota during the months of June, July, and August every Wednesday. If you want to learn more, click this link here: https://youtu.be/lb5UGVgqWG0
The event takes wild turtles and uses them to race and tells the competitors to bang buckets to scare the turtles into moving faster. Watch the video to get more details.
The largest amount of people to join was 500, meaning these turtles can race in the hot sun possibly 10x. A lot of times competitors just drop the turtles on the brick, drag them by their tail, and even kick the poor turtles.
Some of the turtles are young 3in. ones, while others can be full-grown females. If you didn’t know, the summer is when they’d usually lay their eggs, although this event is preventing them from doing so.
Please watch the video to learn more.
