The LSE postgraduate student body would like to request our upcoming deadlines to be extended.

This is not just a “disruptive” moment as we are facing a pandemic that comes with a lot of uncertainty and anxiety. 

We sincerely believe that LSE should have proper measures to allow students to do their best in their studies while managing our mental health that comes with the apprehension of the pandemic. As most of us are from abroad and separated from our families, we would like to be equipped with tools and advice from LSE to do well in our studies. 

Even if we were to request for an extension, it is very difficult for us to get tested for COVID-19 and therefore obtain medical support from the NHS. In addition, the limited library opening times makes it hard for us to use certain resources. Please kindly understand this situation. 

The current deadline for submitting a dissertation proposal is especially making students more anxious. We would like to make sure that the work we submit, especially our dissertation, is our very best work. We strongly urge that LSE shares all the information they can to make us feel comfortable and extend the pressing deadlines.
