As many of you are aware, the Lockyer Valley Regional Council has made the decision to not re-open the Staging Post Cafe at the Cultural Centre in Gatton after it was closed due to covid-19 restrictions. This cafe has some of the best food in town, friendly staff and not to mention the easy access parking. The Staging Post Cafe is also a great place in town to cater for larger crowds. Many events happen at Lake Apex and the Cultural Centre itself. Lets not forget to mention the residents that attend the lake almost daily for exercise or to just simply walk there dogs. Being able to stop and get a coffee or some food from the friendly staff at the cafe is very convenient. Not to mention the amazing pizza's and other beautiful dishes you could have for dinner with the Friday night specials. 

The cafe also has a very large group of elderly people who regularly visit for socialising and just to get out and about. A large number of elderly people who would support this petition probably don't have access to social media so please if you do know someone that frequents the cafe, share this with them. 

With the closure of the cafe, This leaves no places for food or drinks around the lake. The lake and cafe are a central hub for the community. I am sure I speak for everyone who supports the cafe and the staff that work there that we need this cafe, the community needs this cafe. 

Let's stand together and try to get the Lockyer Valley Regional Council to reverse this decision and re-open the Staging Post Cafe.
