Schools to re-instate admissions policies which benefit local children.
We'd like to see local schools for local children. We think it's unreasonable that a child in Newbury or Slough is given preference over one living near to the school if they score just 0.01 more in the entrance tests.
A policy which gives preference to local children who meet the necessary standard whilst not totally excluding those from further afield would reduce the impact of unnecessary travel and return the two schools to ‘the heart of the community’ as mandated by their funding agreements.

I'd like to see Reading and Kendrick schools to go back to admissions policies which benefit local children.
