In 2016 you signed the petition to stop the Bishopsgate Goodsyard development. The More Light More Power campaign was successful and the developers took their plans off the table.
But this monster development is back. Though the towers are lower, the impact will be just as damaging: a major land grab of the East End by the City.
Please help again! Here’s how:
+ + + Important: please send an objection letter to the Mayor of London BY MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER. For guidance, see new campaign website Reclaim the Goodsyard www.goodsyard.org
+ + + Follow and spread the word on Twitter @OurGoodsyard Facebook Bishopsgate-Goodsyard-Stop-The-Monster
+ + + Join our community actions. If you can, please donate some time and / or expertise. We'd love to hear from you at northweavers@gmail.com
If the Mayor of London grants permission, the 10.5 acres of land will pass from public to private ownership. A wall of corporate buildings blocking out the light will destroy the area's community and heritage. The development fails to meet the local need for affordable housing, with only 90 ‘low cost’ homes out of a maximum build of 500. Dominated by office blocks, shops and a hotel, it is outdated in the Covid era and out of step with the coming climate emergency. The site needs sustainable, responsible development that serves the local area.
HELP STOP THE MARCH OF THE MONSTER!
