Members of Mudgegonga, Rosewhite, Barwidgee, Bruarong, Back Creek and surrounding Communities.

Cultural Significance of the ovens catchment falls is the traditional lands of the Jaitmatang nation and Bangerang nations and the Dhudhuroa clan and is well recognised by the community.

The Land that is covered by the proposed exploration application is made up of prime food-producing agricultural land within the Alpine and Indigo Shires. Our rainfall averaging 950mls annually ensures a stable and highly sort after land for agriculture.

Our community has  a strong farming and Land care  base and have delivered huge improvements to our sensitive environmental areas and waterways. By fencing out and protecting these areas we have been successful in managing erosion and improving the water quality of these waterways. Any Mining activity would have adverse effects on the huge amount of works undertaken and would also create significant biosecurity issues for farmers.

Historical evidence has proven that any exploration and mining activity has long term impacts not only affecting the environment but also on the social cohesion of the community.
