Can you believe it?  A few short years ago, when it had just collected a few thousand signatures, I dubbed this “the little petition that could”.  Fast forward to today - and it continues to be very close to my heart.    At 250,000 signatures, we're now in a position to step into our power and demand more sustainable solutions from Loblaw Companies Inc! 

You may have signed this petition back when it started just over 3 years ago... before our world was rocked by the pandemic.  Or you might be one of the tens of thousands of people who signed the petition recently. 

It’s truly inspiring to see this renewed interest in the impacts of plastic waste from people like you across Canada. 

You may recall... when the pandemic first hit, issues like plastic waste and climate change quickly moved to the backburner.  Ironically, that's when the use of disposable plastics began to skyrocket!  And that's not all.  Microplastics have recently been found in human blood for the first time.  The UN has declared plastic waste a human rights issue.  There has never been a more important time in history for us to move these issues back to the front burner!

So thank you for signing! Please continue to share our petition with your friends, family, and networks!  And stay tuned.  We are ramping up the pressure on Loblaw Companies Inc. leading up to their Annual General Meeting on May 4th - and we will need your help!
