It's Climate Friday around the world today. Millions of people are gathering all over the globe to give the politicians a message: Do something. If Greta Thunberg can change the consciousness of the planet, so can each one of us.
Last January, we started a petition aimed at Loblaw - Canada's largest food retailer. In it, we asked the company to put pressure on its suppliers to stop packaging fruits, vegetables and other foods in plastic. We stated clearly: We will not buy foods packaged in plastic anymore.
Loblaw has assured us that next steps are on the way. Loblaw has assured us that it is committed to change. We believe them. But we are still waiting to hear what the plan is.
We are asking Sonya Fiorini - Senior Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, a simple question: Please tell us what Loblaw is planning to do in order to making things better.
Today, inspired by the magnificent Greta Thunberg, we request that you DO SOMETHING.
To our supporters: Please sign our petition below and ask your friends and family to do the same. We have more than 157,000 names now. We're so close to 200,000! Please help us get there!
To Loblaw: It's simple. We will vote with our wallets and shop somewhere else if change doesn't begin now. We don't have time to waste.
