Three and a half weeks ago, I saw a story on CBC's Marketplace that blew my mind. I saw the owner of a grocery store in London, England say that he took his store plastic free in 10 weeks, and that the big chains could do it, too... if only people would pressure them to pressure their suppliers to use sustainable plant-based packaging like bamboo and wood and plant-cellulose. The following week, I decided to start this petition. Fast forward to today. We have almost 8,000 signatures on the way to 10,000 on the way to 1 Million. This is a grass roots movement to ask the CEO of Loblaw Companies Inc., Sarah R. Davis, to start putting the pressure on. Please sign our "little petition that could" and forward it to your family and friends. We will not buy food packaged in plastic anymore!
