Stop Government plans to repeal animal welfare codes

The Issue

My name is Alison Nolan and I am passionate about animal welfare. In particular, chickens in the poultry industry. These hens are forced to live in very crowded, filthy conditions with very little or completely no daylight. If the Government repeal animal welfare codes, I fear that these poor birds will be subject to even more horrific living conditions as the industry will be able to make its own choices regarding their welfare. These hens already have no opportunity to behave naturally, and if the government hand over the reigns to the poultry industry, they will be more neglected and forced to produce more and more eggs, in even more cramped and filthy conditions. Please sign to stop the Government handing over responsibility of these poor, already fragile lives, to organisations that are only interested in making as much profit as they can.
