my, niżej podpisani przedstawiciele branży gastronomicznej i rynku alkoholowego, przedstawiciele mediów, dziennikarze, działacze społeczni, badacze i naukowcy zajmujący się promowaniem kultury alkoholu i tradycji jego wytwarzania i spożywania w Polsce, twórcy i animatorzy kultury barowej oraz miłośnicy jakościowych, tradycyjnych, lokalnych trunków, zwracamy się do Państwa z zaniepokojeniem w obliczu medialnych doniesień o planach likwidacji działalności łańcuckiej fabryki i rozlewni wódek – Polmos Łańcut.
 
Podjęcie takiej decyzji oznacza przerwanie trwającej od 1784 – ponad dwustuletniej! – tradycji produkowania i rozlewania w Łańcucie mocnych alkoholi, tradycji będącej integralną częścią tożsamości miasta i regionu. Oznacza likwidację ostatnich miejsc pracy w zakładzie, a co za tym idzie – zubożenie lokalnego rynku pracy oraz zmarnotrawienie doświadczenia i oddania mistrzów gorzelniczych, ich uczniów i pozostałych osób stojących za łańcuckimi wyrobami monopolowymi. Oznacza likwidację lub niepewny status mieszczącego się na terenie fabryki Muzeum Gorzelnictwa w Łańcucie wraz z jego unikatową kolekcją. Oznacza wreszcie kres wytwarzania unikalnych dla łańcuckiej fabryki rosolisów, poważanych w gronie znawców i miłośników alkoholi i posiadających w dzisiejszym, poszukującym autentyczności świecie potencjał, by stać się mocną marką o ponadkrajowym zasięgu.
 
Wobec tak daleko idących negatywnych konsekwencji podjęcia przez Państwa planowanej decyzji, apelujemy o jej ponowne przemyślenie, w szerszym kontekście i duchu społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu, oraz wypracowanie w toku dialogu z pracownikami i władzami lokalnymi rozwiązania zachowującego miejsca pracy oraz chlubne łańcuckie tradycje wyrobu rosolisów i pozostałych lokalnych alkoholi. Jesteśmy przekonani, że wybór tej drogi będzie dla Państwa powodem do dumy.

Dear Sirs,

We, the undersigned representatives of the gastronomy industry and the alcohol markets, representatives of the media, journalists, social activists, researchers, and scholars, dealing with the promotion of alcohol culture and the tradition of its production and consumption in Poland, creators and animators of bar culture and lovers of quality, traditional, local drinks, we are addressing you with concern in the face of media reports about the plans to close down the operations of the Łańcut factory and vodka bottling plant - Polmos Łańcut.

Such a decision means an interruption of the long-lasting – since 1784, for over two hundred years! The tradition of producing and bottling strong alcohols in Łańcut - an integral part of the city and the region identity. It means the liquidation of the last job positions in the plant, and thus - the impoverishment of the local labor market and the waste of experience and devotion of the master distillers, their students, and other people behind the Łańcut liquor products. It means the liquidation or the uncertain status of the Distillery Museum in Łańcut, located on the premises of the factory, with its unique collection. Finally, it marks the end of the production of rosolis, unique for the Łańcut factory, respected among connoisseurs and lovers of alcohol, and with the potential to become a strong brand with a transnational reach in today's world looking for authenticity.

Given the far-reaching negative consequences of your planned decision, we urge you to rethink it, in the broader context and spirit of corporate social responsibility, and to develop, in the course of dialogue with employees and local authorities, a solution that preserves the jobs and the glorious traditions of the production of rosolis and other local alcohols. We are convinced that choosing this path will make you proud.
