LISD orchestras need to be saved because in 2 years it will be shut down. Think of all the 6th-grade students who wanted to join the orchestra that has to transfer to another school to play an instrument. For my sister, my parents go to work in a strict schedule and don’t have time to drop my sister at another school. Orchestra also has academic benefits, learning to play a string instrument greatly increases your math comprehension, and spatial and pattern recognition.

Orchestra has been alive longer than band was and if we stop this class, it will result in people moving to another school. Some people in my school love orchestra including me. I come every morning to practice my songs on the violin.

Orchestra has won many medals from past contests. With orchestra being shut down, band, choir, athletics, and all the other electives will go up. In my school, people think poorly of the orchestra students and if orchestra goes down band will be the only ones performing for events such as pep-rallies. I think the orchestra needs more support not less so save orchestra today!
