The original charm of the first movie was its over-the-top violence. It was an homage to 80s action films. Making this one PG-13 would allow for less content and more censorship. Chuck Norris wanted this because of his conservative views. Do not let politics and censorship in general ruin art. To fix this, creative editing must be done (and possibly some re-shooting) to add in the bloody content needed to achieve an R rating like the first film. A lot of fans are planning to boycott, so please tell the studio to do the right and profitable thing.
