Taxpayers to vote in SC Judges

Taxpayers to vote in SC Judges
The Issue
South Carolina has become one of the leading states for Domestic Violence and Child Abuse.. Current Judges seemingly ignore these issues especially in Family Court. Currently Judges are nominated elected in by Members of the SC House.. They also turn around and hear cases by attorney’s whom are also members of the house which is a huge conflict. This very issue is allowing abuse and neglect to children to slide through the cracks.. these judges are not going to “bite the hands that feed them” and go against the very people whom put them on the bench. These judges are paid with the people’s tax dollars.
The SC House should no longer have control on voting in these Judges due to a hefty conflict of interest.. These judges are paid for with tax dollars therefore they should be voted in by tax payers
I started this petition because...
I have first hand seen and experienced the corruption happen that puts these children in abusive situations due to attorneys whom are Members of the SC House practicing law infront of the very Judges they nominated and elected in.. I believe this change is essential in the fight to stop Domestic Violence and Child Abuse and Neglect
