Secure the Border, Hold People Accountable, More Education and Treatment options

The Issue

The drug epidemic is out of control and so many people are losing their lives when they are being poisoned by Fentanyl.  The Good Samaritan Law protects people seeking medical attention for someone who overdoses from being prosecuted for use of a controlled substance or drug paraphernalia when they act in good faith to encourage them to seek medical attention for someone in distress but what about when they don't and just leave the person overdosing to die.  What about the person that supplied the fatal dose?  My youngest sister asked for 911 to be called when she was in distress but nobody called for over 4 hours and by that time she was brain dead.  More needs to be done to stop this epidemic and counterfeit pills.  People are being poisoned by the thousands and only some drug dealers are being caught.  The borders need to be secured to stop the flow of these drugs.  There needs to be uniformity across all states that holds accountable those people that provide the lethal dose and those that don't seek medical attention immediately.  We need more treatment options.  We need more awareness and education, and we need to stop the sale of precursor chemicals. All of these things need to be addressed.  There's strength in numbers.   Let's make an impact on this epidemic before we lose more lives.
