The proposals to close Deepings Library - yet keep libraries open in much smaller places across the county - appears to me to be deeply unfair and totally unjustified.
It would be a tragedy and a travesty if it shuts. It’s not just about the books, magazines, videos, newspapers and periodicals. It is also a place where people without the internet can use computers, look for jobs, communicate with family and friends, communicate with big corporates that don’t respond to phone calls. It is also a place where children can learn to enjoy reading and learning.
