Board Meeting on Tuesday

Public comment is on the agenda for the board meeting on Tuesday. If you are interested in making a public comment you need to arrive before the meeting begins (6PM) to sign up on the sign up sheet. The school reports should contain some additional information about tech usage as discussed during the board comments of the last meeting.

Some initial questions that we expect to be answered during Tuesday's meeting include:

  • How much time are students spending on their devices daily - by grade level?
  • Can the district implement a Youtube ban on student devices, effective immediately? Evanston/Skokie district still allows teachers to share Youtube content as needed for educational purposes.
  • What research supports the current amount of time students spend on their devices?

These questions can be answered without teacher input.

Have thoughts you want to share with the board? Email them! As always, we recommend you be respectful in your correspondence as these are volunteer positions.

We had a great suggestion from a community member and we'll be arranging Second Saturdays Meetups at the Peg Bond Center for the summer from 9-11.

Saturday, June 13

Saturday, July 11

Saturday, August 8

Enjoy the farmer's market and swing by to meet other families who are interested in limiting their tech usage at school and home. We are excited about the community we are building through these efforts and would like to plan more events in the future.
