It's no secret that Comino's Blue Lagoon experiences heavy overtourism each summer.

This picturesque, paradisal bay has lost its charm as a beautiful place for calming down and relaxing.

Many Maltese families understandably steer clear of the Blue Lagoon.  The sheer number of visitors creates a chaotic atmosphere, quite the opposite of relaxation.

A quota system has been introduced for the bay, but it has evidently failed to address this issue adequately due to being too high (4000 people).

A carrying capacity study for the Blue Lagoon has been commissioned by the government, but it has not been published.

Not to mention that Comino is an official nature reserve, which deserves to be protected from excess pressures.

We, the undersigned, request that:

-The number of people allowed on the bay at any given time is revised to make the Blue Lagoon a much more comfortable place. The carrying capacity study can aid in determining a more suitable number. A portion of the quota can be reserved for Maltese residents if needs be.

-The Blue Lagoon carrying capacity study be published.
