Lift Travel Ban on Ordinary Iranians – We Are Not Our Government

The Issue

We, the undersigned, call on the United States government to reconsider and repeal any current or future travel bans imposed on Iranian citizens solely on the basis of nationality.

For too long, innocent people—students, artists, parents, the elderly—have been punished by policies that conflate citizens with political regimes.

We are not politicians. We are not governments. We are humans—seeking family, freedom, opportunity, and connection.

The vast majority of Iranians are peace-loving, educated, and eager to contribute to the global community. Many of us have loved ones in the U.S. whom we have not seen for years, and all we want is the right to visit or reunite.

These bans isolate people, destroy families, and deprive the U.S. of the talents and contributions of compassionate, capable individuals.

We believe in a world where humans are not judged by their passports, but by their actions, character, and humanity.

We respectfully ask U.S. leaders to reverse these travel bans and allow ordinary Iranian citizens to be treated with fairness and dignity.

Let’s build bridges, not walls.

Signed with hope, humanity, and belief in justice.
