Hello everyone, very tough update for me. I don't exactly know where to begin. In short: Gemma's condition deteriorated significantly. Please read until the end as GEMMA HAS A WISH.
On Wednesday Gemma was admitted to hospital with severe back pain. Scans unfortunately have shown her cancer has now spread again to her brain, lungs, spine and different areas in her spinal cord. :(
This comes at the same time she was approved immunotherapy at The Christie in Manchester, which her mother applied for in March. (Originally, that bit would have been this update about...)
What will happen now? She had to discuss end-of-life care once again. She is still going to have the approved immunotherapy treatment which will start as soon as possible.
We are all hoping for the best as you can imagine but your prayers are needed. People close to Gemma and everyone following this petition know only too well what a great fighter Gemma is - so nobody has given up just yet.
Finally, this incredible, SELFLESS young mother wants to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help children and young adults that are in a similar situation as Gemma. Please read the latest GoFundMe-update which Gemma wrote herself and where she is asking everyone for a small donation in her honour. Please give whatever you can and please share her story with your friends. Let's give her something to smile about. She is just 29 and her daughter Penelope is 4 :(
