The BBC has shown itself over recent years to be utterly unable to conform to its strict Royal Charter obligations requiring impartiality in political matters. Despite its pathetic and babyish attempts to deny the charge, BBC News has been relentlessly pro-Remain in its Brexit coverage. Its recent childish insults against President Trump during his first presidential visit to the UK would have been unacceptable from any broadcaster, let alone one paid for by a compulsory licence fee, levied irrespective of use.

The BBC should have its Royal Charter Revoked. The licence fee should be scrapped as a grotesque anachronism, and the BBC can then compete on voluntary, opt-in and commercial terms like all of its media competitors (apart from the equally hateful and politically compromised news output of Channel 4).
