Liberty University is aligned as a Christian university with a Biblical foundation. Recently, Jerry Falwell Jr. has endorsed Donald Trump for president. As Liberty alumni, students and staff, we feel this is contrary to Liberty's guiding Biblical principles and ask that Mr. Falwell keep his political affiliations separate from the university spotlight. While we understand that Mr. Falwell's endorsement is meant to be a personal endorsement, we ask that he seek to keep his political views out of the media. This separation will ensure that no assumptions are made about the university or students' political affiliations. Furthermore, this separation will make it evident that this endorsement is a personal endorsement and not representative of the majority of evangelical Christians. 

We feel that Donald Trump's policies are contrary to Biblical commands to "love your neighbor as yourself," and we do not support a man for president who so overtly lives in contradiction to this creed. Jerry Falwell, we ask that you please reconsider how your faith intersects with your politics and remove your public support for Trump.
