Dear supporters,
We have already collected over 42,000 signatures with our petition, thank you for your support!
Unfortunately, both the ALAN KURDI and the AITA MARI are still detained in Palermo. Therefore, we continue to fight for the release of the rescue ships and this is how you can support us:
We are calling for a campaign day on Saturday, June 06, 2020!
Rescue ships must be allowed to rescue when human lives are endangered in the Mediterranean.
Together we want to create visibility on the web. We stand together against the dying at Europe's borders. Taking into account the current events around #blacklivesmatter and #GeorgeFloyd, the systematic discrimination and exclusion of people based on their skin color, origin and religion is the reason why people die in the Mediterranean. Europe’s deadly isolation strategy is a form of systemic racism, against which we will fight with all we’ve got.
How you can support us:
Tweetstorm:
Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, we want to protest digitally (on social media) for the release of the two rescue ships, with as many accounts as possible. To do this, we will share pictures (“sharepics”) and we will demand the release of the two detained rescue ships.
You can create your own (handwritten) sign saying "Free ALAN KURDI", "Free AITA MARI" or "Free The Ships" and post a photo with you and the picture on social media (Don’t forget to use our #, see below).
To do this, we will give you a few suggestions in the posts below, which you can of course also adjust to your liking. Let’s make this issue a trending topic together and create awareness for the dying at Europe's borders.
Share/Re-post/tweet the sharepics and tweets as often as possible and share your posts with each other!
