The Trump plan for Gaza included, among other points, the release of hostages held by Hamas and the release by Israel of 250 Palestinian prisoners, including those sentenced to life imprisonment. Among these prisoners, Marwan Barghouti — often called the Palestinian Nelson Mandela — is the most popular political figure in Palestine. He is seen as the only one capable of building consensus, uniting Palestinians beyond their current political factions, and leading the construction of the future Palestinian state. For this reason, the Israeli army attempted to assassinate him in 2001 and later arrested him. He has been held for almost 25 years in a high-security prison and was sentenced in 2004 to five life sentences.

Israel refused to release him among the 250.

Israel must absolutely release Marwan Barghouti.

Le plan Trump pour Gaza prévoyait entre autre la libération des otages par le Hamas et la libération par Israël de 250 prisonniers palestiniens parmi ceux qui sont condamnés à perpétuité. Parmi ces prisonniers, Marwan Barghouti, souvent appelé le Nelson Mandela palestinien, est l’homme politique le plus populaire de Palestine. Il est perçu comme le seul qui pourrait faire consensus, unir les Palestiniens par-delà leurs organisations politiques actuelles et diriger la construction du futur État palestinien. C’est pour cela que l’armée israélienne a tenté de l’assassiner en 2001 puis l’a arrêté. Il est enfermé depuis presque 25 ans dans une prison de haute sécurité et condamné en 2004 à cinq peines de réclusion à perpétuité. 
Israël a refusé de le libérer parmi les 250.

Il faut absolument qu’Israël relâche Marwan Barghouti.

تضمّن مخطط ترامب لقطاع غزة، من بين نقاط أخرى، إطلاق سراح الرهائن الذين تحتجزهم حماس، وإطلاق سراح 250 أسيراً فلسطينياً من قبل إسرائيل، بمن فيهم أولئك المحكومين بالسجن المؤبد. ومن بين هؤلاء الأسرى، مروان البرغوثي — الذي يُطلق عليه غالباً "نيلسون مانديلا الفلسطيني" — هو الشخصية السياسية الأكثر شعبية في فلسطين. ويُنظر إليه على أنه الوحيد القادر على تحقيق التوافق، وتوحيد الفلسطينيين عبر فصائلهم السياسية الحالية، وقيادة بناء الدولة الفلسطينية المستقبلية. ولهذا السبب حاول الجيش الإسرائيلي اغتياله عام 2001 ثم اعتقله لاحقاً. وهو مسجون منذ ما يقارب 25 عاماً في سجن شديد الحراسة، وحُكم عليه عام 2004 بخمس مؤبدات.

 رفضت إسرائيل الإفراج عنه ضمن الـ250.

 يجب على إسرائيل أن تطلق سراح مروان البرغوثي فوراً.

תוכנית טראמפ לעזה כללה, בין היתר, את שחרור החטופים על ידי חמאס ואת שחרורם של 250 אסירים פלסטינים על ידי ישראל, כולל אלו שנידונו למאסרי עולם. בין האסירים הללו נמצא מרואן ברגותי — המכונה לעיתים "נלסון מנדלה הפלסטיני" — שהוא האישיות הפוליטית הפופולרית ביותר בפלסטין. הוא נתפס כיחיד שיכול ליצור קונצנזוס, לאחד את הפלסטינים מעבר לארגוניהם הפוליטיים הנוכחיים, ולהוביל את בניית המדינה הפלסטינית העתידית. מסיבה זו ניסה הצבא הישראלי להתנקש בחייו בשנת 2001 ולאחר מכן עצר אותו. הוא כלוא כבר כמעט 25 שנה בכלא ביטחוני שמור, ונגזרו עליו בשנת 2004 חמישה מאסרי עולם. ישראל סירבה לשחררו במסגרת ה־250. על ישראל לשחרר את
