It was rumoured last year it is now happening!

Heaton Chapel Station is the busiest 2 platform commuter station in greater Manchester with 750,000 journeys each year, and an average 9% growth per year.

There are 4 trains per hour, during the day, and the peak time trains are overcrowded, always standing room only, and often cannot accommodate everyone who wants to get on.

In May 2018 Northern Rail are reducing the numbers of trains stopping at Heaton Chapel and Levenshulme to 3 per hour.   Additionally the new times are 20,30 & 40 minutes past the hour, meaning if you need to get to work in Manchester for 09:30 the latest train you can catch is the 08:40.

We should be increasing the number of trains, and encouraging more people to use public transport, not reducing them.

We demand that Northern Rail find some way of making an extra train stop at both stations somewhere between 20 to and 20 past the hour.
