Dogs are slaughtered every year in numbers uncountable for the Yulin festival held each year in China. Tradition is one thing but if it involves so much of brutality it better be changed. And advancement is not just about technology, isn't it also about learning what is right and correcting the mistakes that our ancestors did? And people can really make do without the killing as well. It is just not necessary! If I include the pictures even the brave-hearted ones and those who don't care much are going to shed a tear or two. I can bet on that. Dogs are mercilessly beaten, dragged, starved, skinned and boiled alive for the festival. The torture they go through is beyond imagination. It would have been easier to convince people if I added a few images from the internet, but I myself can't bear that, and would not want others to get upset too, hence i am just trying to describe it and keep it to the minimum. "Dogs are man's best friend." "The only creature on earth that loves you more than itself is a dog." "Be the person your dog thinks you are." These are a few of my favorite quotes on them. And trust me they are there for a reason. And the reason is truth. People who have ever been lucky enough to experience the love of a dog knows it already, others can have plenty of people to vouch for that. I know, because I have been able to cope with the worst phase of my life because I had them beside me. The look of affection from their eyes, the way they sulk when you have to leave for work without them, the way they wait for you patiently for hours at the door, and the mad wag of their tails that express how happy they are to have you back home really makes you feel wanted and loved. It is something you have to experience to understand. They don't care however you look or if you are physically or mentally challenged or even if you're bankrupt and homeless, it doesn't make a difference in the way they treat you! You are their God, they are your dog! Nothing changes the love, concern and respect that shines bright in their eyes while they gaze at you tirelessly for hours. They will happily lay their lives for you if the need arises. And there's plenty of proof on the internet if you think i am exaggerating. All I want is your support to end this inhumane way of thanking them for all they have done for us. They deserve to live a life. They have been created by God just like us. We being the more intelligent species, should protect and take care of them. That is what we have been made superior for, to stand for the weak. And what is being done to the only form of selfless unconditional love I have witnessed on earth, is unspeakable. You might think that your help or contribution hardly makes a difference in this huge world, but I would urge you to rethink. You never know if every one you know signs up this petition what effect can this bring up. Please don't hesitate to extend your support, trust me it is going to be worth it. Atleast even if we don't win immediately, you will feel proud of yourself that you did your bit and started doing one good deed in order to make this world a better place. Goodness is always rewarded while you least expect it, isn't it?
