We, the undersigned members of the Davenport Ridge Elementary School community, write to express our appreciation for Principal Michael Pisseri, who has faithfully and indefatigably led our school for the past 14 years.

For as long as we have known him, Mr. Pisseri has been more than just an administrator—he has been the heart and soul of our school. Under his leadership, Davenport Ridge Elementary School has become a highly regarded school known for its commitment to academic achievement, a strong sense of community in a district with far reaching zoning lines, and dedication to educating the whole child. Mr. Pisseri has fostered a school culture that is inclusive, respectful, and deeply grounded in a belief in the power of learning. Our children feel safe, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential because of the positive climate he has carefully cultivated for over more than a decade.

His leadership has yielded measurable success:

• Davenport students consistently outperform other students in the district and across the state in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science - demonstrating high achievement and growth - reflecting his strong commitment to academic excellence.
• Teacher retention is strong, reflecting a workplace environment of professional respect and support.
• Our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is vibrant and active, encouraged by his open-door policy and genuine partnership with families.
• Most importantly, our students thrive emotionally and socially, thanks to a school environment that prioritizes kindness, inclusion, empathy, and mutual respect.

Mr. Pisseri doesn’t just lead the school—he lives its values to “S-O-A-R to Success.” He enthusiastically greets students every morning at arrival - always with his trademark huge smile, a high-five, and remembering the children's small moments. He participates with gusto at school events, going above and beyond to give selflessly of his time and attention to our school community. He listens - truly listens - to the needs of students, staff, and families. He is the kind of leader every school dreams of having, and that every child deserves.

Mr. Pisseri's impact on this community is profound, and his absence is deeply felt by the students, families, and staff he has served with dedication and integrity for over a decade. 

We stand united in our recognition of Mr. Pisseri’s outstanding service and leadership to our children and school community, and look forward to his return to Davenport Ridge.
