My name is Selena Paulino and I am a current graduate student with Ramapo College of New Jersey’s (RCNJ’s) Master of Social Work Program. While attending this program, I have encountered numerous issues regarding ethics, professionalism, and program “limitations.” As paying students, it is our right that we are respected and treated appropriately as students. Unfortunately, this program prides themselves on supporting students who advocate for themselves. However, the moment we do we are criticized and more often than less, ignored. Implementing changes within RCNJ’s graduate social work program is necessary. Students need appropriate and safe field placements, field placement directors who are knowledgeable and informed, guidance regarding LSW licensure and examination, structured and clear support and expectations of students and lastly, we deserve to be heard and respected. It is unfortunate to say many of my peers and I do not feel as though we are being accommodated, informed, trained, and educated on our field effectively. 

Let’s DEMAND this change ONE signature at a time!
