PRASHANT WORLIKARMumbai, India
May 31, 2014
The petition, addressed to President Pranab Mukherji, the Prime Minister along with National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Ratan Tata, former chairman of the Tata Group, reads, “Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha was the founder of the India's nuclear research programmes and pioneer of atomic energy in India. His work empowered our nation to be confident among the world superpowers, and our shrewd neighbours. His efforts were responsible for India becoming self-sufficient in atomic/nuclear energy, free from the influence of the western nuclear superpowers. The employees are fighting to save Dr. Bhabha's home. His home is a heritage that should be preserved and be converted to a museum. It will inspire us and future generations about how, with a powerful vision and dream, one can achieve anything. We must repay him in our own small way. Let us save Dr Homi Bhabha's home and make it into a national monument.”
