Let us eat Healthy - Lower the costs

Let us eat Healthy - Lower the costs
The issue
Who is impacted?
Sarah Maher is a nurse that sees patients with diabetes almost everyday. She says "The rising cost of fresh fruit and vegetables, which is what patients are encouraged to eat to help manage the condition, can make diabetes management difficult." This is one pure example one of many stories you can find, as well as other illnesses caused by this and reasons as to why we need to do something and now all we need to do is act by telling the Department of Health to respond, react or reply to the crisis we need to sort out before it will hurt many more people.

What is at stake?
If don't do something soon eating healthy won't be an option which is why we must react. Eating unhealthy can cause heart disease, diabetes and cancer surely you don't want people you know to be ill or hurt in any way from something we can prevent? It has already been found by Vic-Health that:
- "Chocolate, confectionery and unhealthy drinks were the two most common types of food."
- "Food on special at checkouts was 7.5 times more likely to be unhealthy than healthy."
- "93-94% of adults do not eat the recommended servings of vegetables per day."
This shows why we must act before our nation as a whole is at a risk of becoming ill!

Why we need to act now?
Obesity rates are getting higher and we need to do something! According to the Institute of Health in Australia children 5-17 years in 2017-18 have gone from 4.9% of children being obese to 8.1% in just one year, obesity rates are getting higher faster and faster if we don't do something consequences will be severe. This clearly show rates are getting higher and with the recent inflation being healthy is almost impossible so we must tell the Department of Health to lower costs now! Here is your chance as a democratic society to act and let families eat healthy before people are affected!!!

Please note that this is for a high school test please do feel free to sign my petition but any money given will not be used to help this cause!
