Let us celebrate our cultural backgrounds

The Issue

For years and years, the pupils at Castlemilk High school have sought an event to celebrate their wonderful ethnic diversities. However enthusiastic these pupils might be the senior management team -;encompassing Mrs Lyn Gibson at it's head, Mr Hugh Waugh, Mrs Mcfadzean, Mrs Lafitte, and many more - have thoroughly refused this idea. They continually play a discrete and dishonest game whereby they claim to be onboard and change their minds at the very last minutes. This has to stop. This avoidant behaviour towards diversity has to end. This idea of ignore-it-till-it-goes-away is not something we want or need this younger generation to learn. Pupils deserve to have a say in the events that occur at school. It does not benefit the senior management team that pupils continually lose hope in them, nor does it benefit the students who are promised this event and then pushed away to the side like dirt. Myself and my fellow pupils have lost all hope in the SLT of our school. Nevertheless, this petition will show the team how eager these pupils are to celebrate their cultural diversities; as well as portray the growing levels of resilience these pupils are reaching - which is a core value of said school.
