Why I Want to Play Link in the Live Action Zelda Movie

Zelda was the first video game I ever played, I was hooked from the moment I picked it up. I was four years old, and my parents had just separated. Life felt a little chaotic, and Zelda became my escape. It gave me a world where I could help people, solve problems, and feel a sense of purpose. In a lot of ways, Link became more than a character, he became someone I looked up to.

As I got older, I started to see myself in him. We’re the same build, both of somewhat Japanese origin, and I truly believe he looks like a halfie, someone of mixed Japanese descent, so why not be played by one. I’ve spent years training with swords, and I know Link’s mannerisms like the back of my hand. He’s calm, subtle, but courageous when it counts. I’ve followed those values since I was a kid and still do to this day because of this amazing game.

I genuinely believe Link should be played by a true fan, someone who understands what he represents. He’s a silent hero, a symbol of quiet strength and resilience. I want to bring that to life on screen, not just for myself, but for every fan who’s grown up with this story.

I started a post on Instagram, half jokingly, where I asked fans to tag Nintendo, Wes Ball, and Sony Pictures. It did way better than I expected, and even after the giveaway ended, people kept asking if anything came of it. That support meant everything to me!

This petition isn’t just about getting a role. It’s about showing the studios that the fans care, and that maybe, just maybe, the fans should be able to choose their own Link.

I’d love to just get an audition to show people, you can accomplish what you set out to do, you just gotta do some crazy shit to get there.
