LET THE REEF CLUB OPEN, KEEP POLITICS OUT OF IT
The Issue
*Let The Reef Club Open — *
Allenhurst's Waterfront Deserves to Open Its Doors
Keep politics out !
A finished, fully-funded ocean front restaurant is sitting empty while the approval process drags on.
Allenhurst is ready. , Monmouth county is ready,
It's time to let The Reef Club open.
I've been part of the Allenhurst community for more than twenty five years. The Reef Club is my investment in this town — entirely self-financed, fully renovated , to have a place where neighbors, beach club members, and visitors can gather over good food with the ocean in view.
With this private investment, I built one of the most special place for residents and beach club members to enjoy good food , relax and make lasting memories.
We will create over 120 jobs and bring year-round activity, and host all sorts of celebrations.
The building is done. The vision was realized.
The doors have been ready to open for months.
SO WHAT IS THE HOLDUP??
opening has been stalled in an inspection and approval process that keeps moving the goalposts. We have answered every requirement, addressed every note, and done everything asked of us — and still there is a building inspector who throws roadblocks time after time. Ive had every one of our professionals, builders, sub contractors, architects, agree that they have never seen this type of treatment in their entire careers.
When we tell him that 120 jobs are waiting in the balance, can we have one final list, his response is “not my problem”
The last set of plans that were delivered to him, didn’t have an extra copy, so he refused to review them. This is the pettiness we are dealing with.
At the minimum we should be allowed to open inside. They cannot create any more new issues for the inside, so they are harping on the outside now.
The requirements shift all the time.
That isn't how a fair process is supposed to work.
We don’t want special treatment.
Just a clear set of requirements, AND A FINAL LIST that doesn’t change.
If you want to see The Reef Club open its doors, **add your name.
Every signature tells the state, the DCA and the town that we expect the process to move forward fairly.
Sign. Share. Let's get The Reef Club open.
