With this post, I am closing the “Forest Is Sacred” petition.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who signed, shared, supported, and stood with this simple idea: forests are not entertainment zones; they are living spaces that deserve silence, respect and care.

I’m grateful to share that the petition did bring some change in the respective areas. This was also confirmed to me through calls from the police, which reassured me that the concerns raised were being heard and acted upon.

But this is not where the work ends.

Through this experience, I have also found more direct and constructive ways to respond to such situations — including writing personally to the concerned Tourism Departments and sharing feedback directly with the Ministry.

Sometimes change begins with a petition. Sometimes it happens through one thoughtful email, one official complaint, one conversation, or simply refusing to normalise what should never have become normal.

Thank you to everyone who cared enough to stand up for the forests. 🌳

The petition may be closing, but the reverence remains.
