Dear Olympic athletes and National Olympic Committee members:
Anyone attending the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will face safety risks that did not exist when China hosted the Summer Olympics in 2008. The IOC probably has not and will not warn you about these new risks, since it would likely increase opposition to an event which many are already considering boycotting. To understand what I'm talking about, you should read an article published in Hong Kong today:

That letter describes how the IOC is trampling on the human rights of Taiwanese athletes. The IOC's conduct is discriminatory, disrespectful, and contrary to the principles of Olympism.
I am urging all Olympians to stand up for their fellow athletes from Taiwan during the Tokyo Olympics this summer. The Taiwanese deserve to be treated with dignity, like everyone else.
You have the power to set things right.
