Good morning everyone, we are students from 6-7A of Sekolah Highscope Indonesia Bintaro. As students, we should take great care of the environment and as a part of our contribution to the community. We could start by solving deforestation in Indonesia and in other countries too. 

 An Ecosystem is a part of life that accommodates animals, plants, abiotics and biotics factors, and other non-living, living organisms a place to live. An Ecosystem needs to be balanced because if it’s not balanced it can contribute to pollution. One of the cases that makes ecosystems unstable is deforestation. Nowadays, deforestation have been happening in indonesia, every year the cases of it happening are increasing rapidly, and it becomes a problem in indonesia that it makes most forest that was once a beautiful forest that turns into an apartment or a house and many more problem that causes pollution, and  climate because this keep happening each year we need to find solution to stop.

Deforestation is the clearing of forest lands and environments, primarily caused by illegal logging. Indonesia has been facing and experiencing the loss of forest lands due to this problem. Based on the data from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Indonesia is home to the third largest area of tropical forests in the word. However, our country has lost 104,000 hectares of forests from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. One of the causes of deforestation is climate change. According to many weather websites, the temperature of our country will increase time by time. Making it warmer every year, increasing the chances of getting skin cancer. Illegal logging has been a serious cause of deforestation and the loss of forest areas in Indonesia due to the human needs for daily activities or products. One of the other effects of deforestation is habitat loss, some of the animals that are very vulnerable to extinction or are endangered are orangutans, Sumatran tigers, and elephants. Besides climate change, deforestation also affects habitat destruction and the animal food chain.

Our proposed solution is supporting the government to apply the rules and law more firmly as stated in Undang-Undang No.18 tahun 2013.

First, we need to do reforestation and it will help when after the tree that got destroyed will get replanted. It is one of the ways to stop deforestation and since people do reforestation the risk of having climate change and pollution.

We can educate people, especially students, to plant more trees and tell them the reason how it will help to stop deforestation, and using less paper since paper is made in trees, and making the people get persuaded to stop deforestation since that causes other problems.

Related to our products that will be as media, we will make an investigation report, petition to be spreading to people and telling our president to remind them that we need to stop deforestation, and make animation from make block about deforestation and talk about the problem and talk about the effect what will happen if deforestation is not stopped.
