The City Council will decide next Tuesday whether Santa Cruz will join the rapidly growing Slow Streets movement, and WE NEED YOUR HELP.
We must ask the City Council to follow its own Commission's UNANIMOUS RECOMMENDATION to redirect up to $200 k of Measure H Street Repair Funds - NOT the General Fund - to support and provide Slow Streets in Santa Cruz. This funding could include the use of an outside non-profit or services provider to relieve an already over-burdened staff.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP:
- LET'S DOUBLE OUR SIGNATURES - Please email and share this link to get 2 to 3 more signatures yourself: https://www.change.org/SlowStreetsSantaCruz
-
WRITE THE CITY COUNCIL - Please write, email, text, call, message, mind-meld, whatever with any Council member you know, or even those you don't know, and ASK THEM to:
- SUPPORT Slow Streets in Santa Cruz; and
- AMEND and APPROVE the City Budget next Tuesday WITH the Transportation Commission's recommendation to use $200 k of Measure H Funds for Slow Streets now, not later.
-
HERE'S HOW TO REACH THE CITY COUNCIL DIRECTLY:

PLEASE NOTE: There are several big and likely divisive issues on next week's City Council agenda, and supporting the hugely popular Slow Streets program could be one of the few positive an unifying items for our entire community.
Thank you, in advance, for all that you've done and still can do.
